Aquatic Programs
The DeKalb Park District offers a 6-level swim lesson program that focuses on building skills and confidence. Levels begin at an Introduction to Swimming to Refining Swim Strokes. We are offering a modified version of our Learn-to-Swim programs for ages 4+ and Levels 1 - 6. Come learn to swim with us!
We also offer seasonal aquatic programs for kids/teens and lifeguard certification courses. Looking for Hopkins Pool information? Visit the Hopkins Pool page! Please note that Hopkins Pool will be CLOSED for the summer 2024.

Cancelations could occur due to severe weather or facility conditions. If needed, a make-up day will be the week after your lesson session. Follow our RainOut Line for updates!
Signing up for programs early helps prevent cancellations by demonstrating sufficient interest and ensuring that programs reach their minimum participant requirements. Recruit friends, family, and neighbors to sign up for programs with you or help get the word out in our community!
Group Swim Lessons (Ages 4-15)
Lessons follow a research-based curriculum that allows students to progress through the levels at their own pace, mastering the skills in one level before advancing to the next. Classes are divided into groups based on ability and completion of prerequisites.
Adult Group Lessons (16+)
Calling all adults who never learned how to swim or haven't swam in years! If you would like a refresher or learn how to swim, then this class is for you. Our adult swim lessons focuses on basic strokes and safety around water. So whether you are planning on swimming at the pool or going out on the boat, this class is for you.
Private Lessons (All Ages)
One-on-one instruction is provided for children and adults. Semi-private lessons are offered for students at the same skill level that wish to share the instructor. Students may work on the skills from the group lessons or other specific skills as desired.
Open Lap Swim (All Ages)
Get in your swim workout as your schedule allows with a Lap Swim Card. The card costs $30 and is good for 10 Huntley Middle School Pool visits during seasonal designated lap swim hours on Monday and Wednesday evenings, and Saturday mornings. *Open Lap Swim is available only during Private Swim Lesson session dates and times.
