Aquatic Programs
The DeKalb Park District offers a 6-level swim lesson program focusing on building skills and confidence. Levels begin with an Introduction to Swimming to Refining Swim Strokes. We offer a modified version of our Learn-to-Swim programs for ages 4+ and Levels 1 - 6. Come learn to swim with us!
We also offer seasonal aquatic programs for kids and teens, lifeguard certification courses, and FREE summer-time aquatic events! View aquatic event details on our web calendar.

Open Lap Swim
Monday, Wednesday & Saturday
Get in your swim workout with an Open Lap Swim membership. The membership costs $30 and is good for 10 visits during designated lap swim hours on Monday/Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings, during private lesson session dates only.

Private Swim Lessons

Huntley Middle School Pool, 1515 S. 4th Street
The DeKalb Park District offers a 6-level swim program that focuses on building skills and confidence.
Level 1: Introduction to Water
Level 2: Foundational Skills 1
Level 3: Foundational Skills 2
Level 4: Stroke Development
Level 5: Stroke Improvement
Level 6: Stroke Refinement
One-on-one instruction is provided for children and adults. Semi-private lessons are offered for students at the same skill level that wish to share the instructor. Students may work on the skills from the group lessons or other specific skills as desired.

Lessons follow a research-based curriculum that allows students to progress through the levels at their own pace, mastering the skills in one level before advancing to the next. Classes are divided into groups based on ability and completion of prerequisites.

Lifeguard Certification Class
Ages 15+
April 16 - April 19
This blended learning, American Red Cross certified lifeguard class includes Basic Lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and First Aid training. All certifications are valid for 2 years. Please note that this blended learning class combines in-class sessions with online learning. Plan an additional 8-10 hours outside of the meeting times to complete the online class sessions.
