Discover Sun-sational Summer Camps

DeKalb, IL- Summer break is a favorite time of the year for many children. It is a designated time to have fun, play, be outside, spend the entire day doing something they love, and hopefully make new friends! DeKalb Park District Summer Camps offer that experience. Children, ages 3-18, are invited to have an adventurous summer with some new and familiar camp offerings, all in a structured environment! Families can sign up week to week, the full 11 weeks, or choose one of our week-long specialty camps. Select camps are also 5% off if you enroll by April 30! 

Mini-Campers: A camp designed especially for younger campers (ages 3-5). Offered Monday through Friday, parents can choose a half-day (8:30 am - 12:45 pm, lunch included, or 12:45 - 5:15 pm, snack included) or full-day option (8:30 am – 5:15 pm). Mini-campers is at the Sports and Recreation Center at 1765 South 4th Street. The half-day fee is $94 per week or $938 for the full 11 weeks, and the full-day cost is $176 per week or $1799 for the full 11 weeks.

Camp Discover: Enjoy one of DeKalb's favorite summer camps that delight campers (ages 6-12) each week with games, craft activities, field trips, theme days, regular swim days at Hopkins Pool, and more. Camp Discover is Monday – Friday, 8:45 am – 5:00 pm. Camp Discover is located at Jefferson Elementary School, at 211 McCormick Drive, for most of the summer; however, it will be at the Sports and Recreation Center for week one and at Hopkins Park Shelter, 1403 Sycamore Road, during weeks 10 and 11. The fee is $176 per week or $1799 for the full 11 weeks.

A Parent Meeting will be held virtually on Thursday, May 23, at 6:00 pm to share more details about summer camps. For an additional fee, parents will have a Before Camp (7:00-8:45 am) and an After Camp (5:00-6:00 pm) option for Camp Discover participants.

Specialty Camps: The DeKalb Park District offers week-long Specialty Camps throughout the summer, Monday through Friday, 1:00-5:00 pm, except for Horseback Riding and Intro to Cheerleading Camps. All Sorts of Sports (June 5-9); Princess Camp (June 12-16); Egyptology Camp (June 26-30); DeKalb Explorers (July 10-14); Intro to Cheerleading (July 17-20); Swing and Swim (July 17-21); Shark Week Camp (July 31-August 4); and a one-day Horseback Riding Camp (June 5 or July 31). Teens, ages 12-18, can also enjoy DIY Camp (June 5-9) and Tabletop Roleplaying Game Camp (July 24-28).

Children of all abilities are invited to have a fun and rewarding summer experience. Please notify the program supervisor if inclusion services are needed. Inclusion services create a supportive environment for individuals with special needs to participate with their peers in Park District Summer Camp offerings.
