DeKalb, IL— It’s time to spread some holiday cheer and light up DeKalb! Join the fun in the 5th Annual DeKalb Holiday House Decorating Contest and show off your festive flair. Whether your style is classic and cozy or dazzlingly over-the-top, there’s a category for everyone!

Contest Details
Staff Judging Date: Wednesday, December 11
Time: Judging from 4:30 – 10:30 pm
Fee: $5 per house (DeKalb residents only)
Registration Deadline: Tuesday, December 10, or until full!

Best Overall Theme (Staff Pick)
Light Up the Town (Staff Pick)
People’s Choice (Community Votes on Facebook, December 12-19)

Staff Picks will be judged on December 11 by DeKalb Park District staff and volunteers. Winners will be announced the following morning and participating addresses will be shared in local media (unless otherwise requested).

People’s Choice voting will take place on the DeKalb Park District Facebook page from December 12 – 19. The image with the most “likes” by 9:00 pm on December 19 wins, with the winner announced on December 20.

What You’ll Win
Winners in all categories will receive prize packages generously donated by Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers and, of course, ultimate bragging rights as DeKalb’s holiday decorating champions!
