Light Up with Glee!

Mon December 6, 2021

DeKalb, IL- The holiday season truly is the most wonderful time of the year. A time to reflect and celebrate together, especially after a tumultuous year and a half. Adjusting to the pandemic, safety restrictions, and breaking tradition has been challenging worldwide. The holidays certainly looked different last year and will once again in 2021, but the DeKalb Park District is excited to see the return of such winter traditions as Breakfast with Santa, Holiday House Decorating Contest, and the Polar-palooza Winter Festival.

“We are super excited to bring back some of our beloved annual, winter programming to the DeKalb community. Winter is personally one of my favorite times of the year and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than with some fun-filled events and activities,” commented Recreation Supervisor, Chrissy Tluczek. “From the twinkle of holiday lights to the hearty laugh of Santa to the playful grin of a snowman, there is always something to bring joy on these cold, winter days. We hope that you and your family share in the fun and festivities this winter season!”

DeKalb residents are invited to channel their inner Clark Griswold and sign up for the 2nd Annual DeKalb Holiday House Decorating Contest.
