The DeKalb Park District seeks public opinion for naming the new pool at Hopkins Park. As construction continues with an anticipated Summer 2026 completion date, the District wishes to invite the community to play a role in its future by helping choose the new pool’s official name. The Board of Commissioners and staff have narrowed down several potential names, but the final name will be chosen through a bracket-style showdown and voted on by the public.
After receiving over 450 votes, the final two names have been decided and are going to face-off in a final voting showdown. The name that receives the most votes by 11:59 PM on February 13th will be the new pool’s official name. The winning name will be formally announced on Friday, February 20th following Board approval on Thursday, February 19th.
The public can cast their votes on an online form. This form will be accessible on the District’s website, social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X and LinkedIn), as well as e-blasts to their newsletter subscribers.
