Tee Up the Town Rivalry!

Thu May 8, 2025

DeKalb County, IL - Dust off your clubs and bring your hometown pride—DeKalb and Sycamore are going head-to-head in a brand-new golf outing on Sunday, June 22, designed to stir up some friendly competition and community spirit. It’s time for the Cross-Town Showdown, and we want to know: which city will come out on top?

Hosted at Sycamore Golf Club, this fun and competitive event features a unique 18-hole format—Scramble on the front 9 and Best Ball on the back 9, perfect for seasoned players and casual golfers alike. But this isn’t just about personal bests. The top 10 team scores from each community will be tallied to determine who earns ultimate bragging rights and takes home the traveling trophy until DeKalb hosts next year.

“This tournament is more than just a great day of golf—it’s a celebration of local pride and the camaraderie that makes Sycamore and DeKalb so special,” stated Paul Price, Sycamore Golf Club Superintendent of Golf Services & Head Golf Professional. “Whether you're a seasoned golfer or just in it for the fun, this event brings both towns together in the spirit of friendly competition. We can't wait to see who takes home the trophy this year!

"It's more than a game," commented River Heights Golf Course Operations Manager Cindy Slinkard. "This outing is a test of skill and hometown pride. Let the best course win!"
