The DeKalb Park District offers field rentals in a variety of locations for soccer, baseball, and softball.

No alcoholic beverages are allowed at our parks or ballfields unless otherwise arranged through a City of DeKalb Alcohol Permit.


DeKalb Kiwanis Park Soccer Field

The DeKalb Kiwanis Park Soccer Fields are outdoor fields located directly behind the Sports and Recreation Center.

Please contact Ryan Coffland at rcoffland@dekalbparkdistrict.com for available field sizes and dimensions. The renter is responsible for providing their own corner flags. 

Game Rental Rate

  • Fields with goals: $50 per game per field  
  • Fields without goals: $45 per game per field  

Practice Rental Rate

  • All organized practices for groups over 10 must have a valid field rental permit. Contact Ryan Coffland at rcoffland@dekalbparkdistrict.com for updated practice field rental rates.  

Softball/Baseball Field Rentals

The DeKalb Park District offers a number of softball/baseball fields available to rent. These fields include Katz Park, Hopkins Park, Prather Park, and McCormick Park.

The fields are available from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm. Softball/baseball field prep rentals include the field being groomed, lined, and use of bases that are set up before use, and use of port-a-potties. 

Use of scoreboard controls (renter must provide operator), shelter rental, keys for restroom facilities, and lights may be added for additional fees at select parks. Ask us about our multi-game rental options! 

Rental Rate Options

  1.  1 field- For practice with no field prep: $30/hour 
  2.  1 field- For practice/games with field prep: $75/game 
  3.  Add-on of $25/hour/field to either option #1 or #2 for lights

Lightning & Thunder Policy

ALL PERSONS SUPERVISING AND/OR OFFICIATING OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES BE AWARE THAT WHEN LIGHTNING OR THUNDER IS OBSERVED OR HEARD, OUTDOOR PROGRAMS SHOULD BE SUSPENDED IMMEDIATELY AND EVERYONE SHOULD SEEK APPROPRIATE SHELTER. 

Supervisors and/or officials should adhere to the following procedures and guidelines:

  • Clear fields and playing areas of all players and spectators immediately.
  • Advise that everyone take shelter. 
  • DO NOT take shelter under trees or metal shelters.
  • Activities will be suspended for a minimum of 30 minutes after the last sign of lightning or thunder is observed.
  • If constant lightning and thunder continue, or if the fields become unsafe for play due to excessive rain, the games will be canceled. 

Cancellations

  • The Park District may cancel field rentals due to weather and field conditions.
  • Cancellations by the event organizer must be communicated in advance to be eligible for any type of refund.
