Comic Book Creation 101

Ages 8-14

Thursdays, April 2- April 23 • 6:00 - 8:00 PM

Ever wanted to bring your own stories to life in comic form? This class is the perfect place to start!

Over this 4-week class, you will learn the fundamentals of sequential art, how to craft dynamic comic pages, pace your story, and design panels that really pop. We’ll explore the tools of the trade, from the best paper to pens, markers, and other supplies that make your work shine.

Comics are all about storytelling, and no matter what story you want to tell, this class will give you the skills to make it come alive on the page. Let your imagination run wild and see your ideas jump from your mind to the page!

Discover Skateboarding at Fargo

Ages 6+

Fargo Skateboarding, 641 E. Lincoln Hwy. DeKalb, IL 60115

DeKalb is home to one of the best indoor skateparks geared towards learning and progressing in skateboarding. Skateboarding increases confidence, body awareness, balance and happiness. Come learn the basics of skateboarding from Fargo's experienced instructors.

No gear? No problem! All safety equipment and skateboards are included.

This is a weekly class with drop-in hours. You can arrive anytime after 3:00pm and stay as late as 6:00pm.

3-d Printing 101: How to get started with 3-d printing

Ages 6+

Have you wondered about the world of 3-D printing? Maybe you’ve seen a printer at school or at the local library and wondered how 3-D printing works! Join us for 3-D Printing 101: How To Get Started with 3-D Printing to learn all of the basics.

Taught by Noah and Alex, local youth business owners of a 3-D printing small business, this class will help break down the basics of 3-D printing. You’ll learn about the parts of a 3-D printer, the supplies needed to 3-D print, the types of printers available, the software you can use, and how to best shop for a 3-D printer on your own. The class will also include a live demonstration with a 3-D printer so you can see one in action. Bring your curiosity and love for STEAM to have some fun!

(Families are welcome to attend together but, must register separately.)

Dungeons & Dragons (Youth)

Ever wanted to slay a dragon or storm a castle? Plays of all abilities and experiences are welcome to join our experienced Dungeon Master on a an adventure of the imagination. This two-part progressive workshop series takes the beginner from basic rules and character creation through a full campaign. Experienced players can jump right into one of the One-Shot Campaigns. One Shot Campaign

Let the quest begin! Our Dungeon Masters will engage, entertain and challenge kids as they lead them on an adventure they'll be talking about long after the game ends. Participants will play through a one-shot campaign with their newly created characters.

A Dungeons & Dragons one-shot is a short, self-contained story that takes place over the course of one or two sessions. It's a great way to play and be introduced the magical world of D&D. Players should attend our Character Creation & Rules workshop (see above) or have a basic understanding of the game to participate. All materials are provided!

Calling all trainers! Bring your best Pokémon decks and put your skills to the test in this fun, casual play environment. Whether you’re a seasoned battler or just starting your Pokémon journey, this program is the perfect place to meet fellow players, trade cards, and enjoy friendly matches. Players will face off each week to rack up wins, and the trainer with the most victories by the end will take home a special prize!

Lorcana League

Bring your best Lorcana decks and put your inking and storytelling skills to the test in this casual, friendly play environment. Inspired by beloved Disney characters, Lorcana lets you become the animator, bringing favorites like Mickey Mouse, Stitch, Elsa, and countless others to life on the playing field. Players will compete to create the most magical stories and earn points through gameplay, a small prize will be given to the player with the most points at the end of the day.

Creativity Corner

Ages 6-12

Join us for crafting and dinner at the Creativity Corner! Where artists of all abilities will be guided through step-by-step projects that they will bring home at the end of the session. Our monthly workshops include dinner and will enhance your creativity, fine motor skills and provide a great place to make friends.

Puzzle Piece Heart

In our February class, transform puzzle pieces into a charming heart design! Participants will paint, arrange, and decorate their creation to take home, making it a thoughtful decoration or gift. All materials provided.
