Ronnie’s Club: Homeschool Open Gym

Let's get moving! Geared toward homeschooled children but open to all, these two-hour open gym times will focus on a different game/activity each week. A trained instructor supervises Open Gym to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. Parents are welcome to stay and socialize! Pre-registration encouraged.

Creativity Corner

Join us for crafting and pizza at the Creativity Corner, where artists of all abilities will be guided through step-by-step projects that they will bring home at the end of the session. Our monthly workshops include dinner and will enhance your creativity and fine motor skills and provide a wonderful place to make friends. This program was previously called Kids Pizza & Paint Night. Discover Skateboarding at Fargo

DeKalb is home to one of the best indoor skateparks geared toward learning and progressing in skateboarding. Skateboarding increases confidence, body awareness, balance, and happiness. Learn the basics of skateboarding from Fargo's experienced instructors. No gear? No problem! All safety equipment and skateboards are included. Flexible drop-in hours allow you to arrive and depart any time between 3:00 and 6:00 pm.

Dungeons & Dragons

Have you ever wanted to slay a dragon or storm a castle? Players of all abilities and experiences are welcome to join our experienced Dungeon Masters on an adventure of the imagination. Basics of Babysitting

Ages 12-18 • Saturdays • Sports & Recreation Center, Conference Room

Prepare students to be safe when they are home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. It will be filled with role-playing exercises and give kids the knowledge they need to feel confident watching other children. Ages 14+ will receive an official American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid certification while anyone under age 14 will still receive the training and skills practice.

radKIDS Safety Class

Since 2001 radKIDS has become the National Leader in Children's Safety Education. Empowering children and parents with a revolutionary skill-based curriculum, that strengthens children personal boundaries and parental confidence. Join Tom Scott, radKIDS certified instructor, as he teaches kids to replace fear with knowledge, skill, and power, by enhancing a child's critical thinking abilities and physical resistance skills, this program provides the opportunity for children to recognize, avoid, resist, and if necessary escape violence or harm while remaining joyful and safer in our world today.

Mini Medics: First Aid Basics

Ages 6-10 • Tuesday/Thursday • Sports & Recreation Center, Conference Room

Taught by a certified American Red Cross instructor, this two-session program will teach your young one(s) basic first aid skills including: how to recognize an emergency, how to respond to an emergency, basic first aid skills for minor injuries and environmental illness, hands-on activities, and more! When you are used to being the one who soothes all the bumps and bruises, it can be difficult imagining your child taking over the job but, after this program, your young one(s) will have the confidence, knowledge, and skills they need to respond to an emergency is a safe and effective manner. Participants will need to bring a stuffed animal or doll to practice their first aid skills on. All other supplies will be provided.

Allyson Campbell 

Home School Open Gym Instructor

Mother of three wonderful boys and an adorable dog, Allyson started homeschooling her oldest son in 2023. She fell in love with the open gyms and the community they brought together. She learned so much from the other families, which helped her as a beginner with homeschooling. Allyson and her mom also run a craft show promotion company and make their own crafts. She has been around crafting activities her entire life!  

For the past few years, Allyson has worked with Little Lambs Preschool, doing fun kids' activities and crafts. She loves working with children and finding fun ways for them to move their bodies and stay active.

Matti Kinner

Youth Art Instructor

Matti has always been passionate about art, from painting and drawing to photography. In his free time, he likes listening to music, spending time in nature, and connecting with others. This past summer, he worked as a Summer Camp Counselor, where one of his favorite activities was making crafts with the campers. As a Youth Art Instructor, he aims to inspire others and help young artists discover their creativity and passion for the arts.
