Important Pool Rules & Info to Know

If any individuals are violating Pool Rules or creating an unsafe or hostile environment for visitors or staff, DeKalb Park District and Hopkins Pool staff reserve the right to ask individuals to leave for the day, without a refund, or potentially result in being banned from visiting Hopkins Pool. We appreciate your cooperation, as public safety is our #1 priority.

NEW Pool Entry Procedures

Full Pool Rules & Regulations 

Safety Guidelines:

• Daily Admission users must enter and check-in through the south side of Hopkins Park Community Center. Locker rooms and lockers are open for use. Season Pass Holders may use the 'Fast Pass Lane' via the pool south-side gate entrance. 
• A valid photo ID is required for Daily Admission Entry. Valid photo IDs will be submitted for daily admission entry at the pool front desk and returned as you exit the facility. Individuals will be responsible for collecting their IDs upon exiting the facility.
• Adults between the ages of 18-20 can register up to 4 individuals under the age of 16, and adults ages 21+ can register up to 6 individuals under the age of 16.
• Children of Season Pass Holders that are 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult 16 and older in swim attire, including in the water, on deck, and in the restroom/locker room.
• Adults with children up to age 7 are permitted in the Kiddie Pool area. The Kiddie Pool opens daily starting at 9:30 am.
• 2 hours of exclusive Lap Swim time is available daily from 9:30-11:30 am (with the exception of Saturdays, with Lap Swim from 9:00-11:00 am).

General Pool Rules

Age Requirements: As of Monday, June 13, 2022 we updated our Hopkins Pool Rules and Regulations for the enjoyment of all visitors. All patrons purchasing a Daily Admission Pool Pass must be at least 16 years of age and any individuals younger must be accompanied by an adult 18 and older. 

Floatation Devices: ONLY Type II & III US Coast Guard approved floatation devices are permitted in the main swimming pool. Children using permitted floatation devices must be constantly supervised and within arms reach. No floatation suits, tubes, or water wings are allowed in the main pool. Life-vests are available to check out at the front desk.

Water Slide Height Requirement: All patrons riding the slides must be at least 42'' tall.

Pool Closings: Our staff makes every effort to maintain our regular pool hours. Due to cooler weather, severe weather conditions, or lack of patrons, the pool or pool areas may close temporarily or for the day based on management judgment.

NOTE: Please be aware of weather conditions. Rain checks for daily admissions will only be issued to patrons who have been in the facility less than two hours and have a receipt.

The pool will close if:

• there are less than fifteen (15) swimmers
• the temperature is below 68 degrees
• lightning or severe weather is in the area

Hopkins Pool Party Rentals 

Come party with us! Enjoy your party during open pool hours or have Hopkins Pool all to yourself for your next celebration. 

Reserve your date today by stopping by calling (815) 758-7756 during the off season, or contacting Hopkins Pool during the summer season at (815) 758-8853. Rentals must be booked at least two weeks in advance and payment is due in full at time of reservation. 

All birthday parties (public and private) must provide at least one adult supervisor (16 years of older) in the water, in a swimsuit for every five children under the age of 6, and at least one adult supervisor for every ten children under the age of 10. As your guests arrive at the facility, staff will keep track of how many guests enter for your party. 

Public Pool Party (Up to 25 Guests) 

Party Package Includes:

• Two (2) hours in the designated party area for meal and birthday cake.
• Thirty (30) minutes before/after to set-up, decorate, and clean up. Trash bags/trash removal is included.
• A dedicated Party Host/Hostess to help set-up your party; periodic checks on you and your guests during your time, and for post-party cleanup. A cart will be provided to bring in and take out party supplies.
• Party hosts may provide their own food, beverage, dessert, and decorations. Alcohol and glass are not allowed.
• After the party, all guests are welcome to stay and swim for the remainder of the day. 

	Mondays & Wednesdays, 11:30 am-5:00 pm Tuesdays & Thursdays, 11:30 am-7:00 pm Fridays, 11:30 am - 6:00 pm Saturdays, 11:00 am - 5:00 pm Sundays, 11:30 am - 5:00 pm
	Includes access to the entire facility including water slides, diving well, and Kiddie Pool.
	$200 R/$250 NR

Private Pool Party (Up to 500 Guests) 

Party Package Includes:

• Exclusive use of the facility including concession area, water slides, diving platforms, and main pool area (Does not include the 
  Kiddie Pool which is available at an additional cost).
• Facility manager and lifeguards on duty to help ensure a safe environment. 
• Staff to meet you and your guests and ensure that your party runs smoothly.
• Party hosts may provide their own food, beverage, dessert, and decorations. Alcohol and glass are not allowed. 
• Additional guests welcome for an additional fee. 

	Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7:30-9:30 pm Fridays, 6:30-8:30 pm Saturdays and Sundays, 5:30-7:30 pm
	Exclusive use of the facility including concession area, water slides, diving platforms, and main pool area .
	$600 R/$700 NR
	Thursdays in July & August 3 are unavailable due to Hot Summer Nights.

Throughout the year, the DeKalb Park District offers Swim Lessons at Huntley Middle School Pool and seasonally at Hopkins Pool. Details can be found on our Aquatics page!
